News Appliance | News Dishwasher Reliability Study Puts Bosch & Asko First

The best dishwasher to buy for reliabilityAn interesting consumer study carried out in New Zealand has measure the reliability of dishwasher models sold in the country with interesting results that reinforce what the engineers in our forums have been telling people for years.

New Zealand's only white goods manufacturer is the one proving the least reliable in Consumer tests for dishwashers.

Fisher and Paykel dishwashers come out bottom for reliability amongst brands that last, according to a survey of nine thousand members of the New Zealand watchdog organisation. Asko and Bosch topped the poll. Overall, 84 percent of dishwashers never needed repair, but for Fisher & Paykel that figure dropped to 77 percent.

Bosch of course an extremely well known brand in the UK as well as the rest of the world but Asko not so much here in Britain. The good news however is that you can buy an Asko made dishwasher which is sold here under the ISE brand, you can see the ISE D243W dishwasher here, which for domestic use comes with a whopping ten year warranty.

The most common fault reported was programme failure, which doesn't say much as if pretty much anything goes wrong the dishwasher will halt.

Fisher and Paykel were also rated as "average" for fridge-freezers and washing machines.

Bosch has topped the ratings for washing machines and dishwashers for the last five years and Miele for vacuum cleaners.
