Samsung are launching three new ranges of “premium” (Samsung speak) built in appliances it has announced just ahead of the IFA trade show in Berlin that kicks off tomorrow.
Samsung say that these products are targeted towards European tastes and to be fair to them, they do look nice enough in the press photos with none of the “bling” stuff we usually see from Samsung and LG or, at least a lot more subdued at any rate.
Knowing what we know however, don’t be too shocked if behind the front facade that all the products are largely the same internally.
So here’s the lowdown on what Samsung is up to. Whether they sell any or, we even see it in the UK remains to be seen.
This is the new spin on the stuff that is apparently already out there and looks to us as if it features a lot of stainless steel finish and… err, that’s about it really.
Okay, there’s probably some funky upselling features in there but the big thing we reckon will be the stainless finish.
The name kinda says it all really.
Looks to us the Sammy broke out the spray paint and, that’s about all really.
Why they didn’t call this the White Line who knows as we think this is the same stuff as the Black Line, only in white and silver or stainless effect trims.
The big change here is, in so far as we know a first for Samsung is a fully integrated fridge freezer that has the Twin Cooling Plus and Cool Select Zone features on it. We all know how well they work or rather, the folks in the trade do, the public don’t till it breaks.
It seems that Samsung is aiming to take a bite out of the European built in market but with very established and well known rivals and a whole heap of own label brands that compete solely on price to builders, kitchen fitters and so on we think Samsung may well flounder in the area. Unless of course they want to take a hit on it to get established in the sector.
