Maytag: More Fridges Recalled In The United States
Whirlpool Corporation has added additional brands of refrigerator to its recall due to an electrical failure in the relay, the component that turns on the refrigerator’s compressor.
This can cause overheating and pose a serious fire hazard, we've seen footage of one actually on fire!

ERT Weekly has reported that Maytag's business is to be integrated with that of Whirlpool in the UK leading to the closure of its Redhill, Surrey, base.
During next month, all sales, marketing and after-sales service functions for Maytag will move to Whirlpool's UK headquarters in Croydon while its logistics operations will transfer to Whirlpool's distribution centre in Aylesford, Kent.

The factory is left with some 500 workers, who have lost their jobs.Maytag has been a part of Newton for many years, although these days more famous or infamous for the cost £48 Million of the Hoover Free Flight Promotion. At the time Len Hadley was CEO and Hoover Europe was part of Maytag. Old Fred Maytag would be turning in his grave at the closure of this once busy factory & Town. The only thing left in Newton to bare the Maytag brand, will be Maytag Blue cheese. "
Maytag: Maytag Washing Machines Recalled Due To Fire Hazard

"The federal government announced a recall of 250,000 Maytag-brand front loading washing machines, due to the possibility of water leaking onto electrical connections and posing a fire hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a release that also said about 20,000 Samsung-brand front loading units were also effect.
