To elks4. 1st check wiring and edge connector of rotor position sensor for corrosion. 2nd. Check RPS. Replace if faulty. 3rd. Replace motor control.

Re: Fisher & Paykel error codes

Hi I've got a Smart drive 700. (which i'm assuming is a gw700)

The problem is when the machine is on I can hear a pump going even before a cycle starts. It won't do the spin cycle, it just beeps once per second when it gets to it and shows the short wash light.

I've done the diagnostic and I got

Off Off Off Off ON ON Off ON

Thanks

The module has detected the pump is on when it should be off.

Unplug the machine to do any checks.
1.Check if the thermal cutout has activated and if so wait till the pump cools down before restarting.
2. check for blockage and condition of pump before restarting.
3. check for open circuit pump windings and the resistance should be 26ohms @ 20 degrees C for a compreci pump or 33ohms @ 20 degrees C for a Selni brand pump.

Check pump wiring for open circuit as well

Ive had this fault too and a new pump fixed it.

Last fix in the list is replace the display module.

To Brackent. Remove the plug from the wall and tilt back. Remove the pump. Check the resistance of the pump. If its less than 33ohms replace it. Please reply with result.

Problem with a GW701-u washer.
Works till random place in the wash cycle then stops with continuous beeping. Lights up as follows... off off off on off off off off.
Need to power off then on and Advance to restart. Regularly faults again during the remaining cycle. Eventually need to advance to Final Spin to complete the wash.

Have pulled out the pump and checked it's clean.

Tried Diag mode. Don't get the two beeps but still appears to be in Diag.
Fault sequence is on off off off off off on off. Also has Spin Slow/Hold and Water Level High/Low lit up.

Help very much appreciated as local service agent has proven to be far less than competent on other appliance and next closest agent is 90km away :(

Wazzawenches. With power off
1. Check for corrosion on the edge connector of the Rotor Position Sensor and the Motor Control Module connector.

2. Check the contacts on the rotor positional sensor end of the hall harness to see if any have been damaged. (Each set of contacts in
the socket has two wipers. If the distance between these wipers varies between different contacts, replace the rotor positional sensor harness.)

3. Check rotor position sensor for corrosion or black burn marks. Replace if it has these. If it has burn marks check the motor windings for a similar black mark and if present replace the windings too.

4. If everything above checks ok replace the motor controle module.

Penguin45.

I read the sticky, but mine shows no lights at all on that diag test.

(hold and slow lights are on)

Is it possible for someone to put a screenshot of the machine, and explain how to read the codes as I thought it was read left to right but now read it is right to left in binary, and I cant workout how to "add" the numbers together.

Hi,
I have a F&P gw709au with a fault code:
off, off, on,off,on,off,off,off
The machine often stop mid cycle and occasionally fills and overflows. If you can help with the diagnostic code it would be great.
Regards
Justo

@justo2 00101000 according to a manual I found online is "Phase 1 to 6 - Bowl Dis-engage Fault." "check are the clutch and the pressure tube." I have no expertise in this area however.

I have a GW712. When it gets to the end of the wash cycle pump starts, but it does not empty completely and will not go on to the refill and rinse cycle. I can coax it along turning it on and off a few times and eventually it will get going but will stop again at end of rinse before it spins. Again the machine will not empty properly and wont spin. With a lot of mucking about I have managed to finally get it going to complete the spin, but next wash its the same story over again. When it stops lights 1 3 6 are lit (right to left) 1 + 4 + 32 = 37
Help would be much appreciated Thanks

I found error codes here; http://www.docstoc.com/docs/25379715/?u ... ign=newreg

37 Pump blocked error. The pump seems to be fine until about 70% of the water has been pumped out (beautifully with good pressure). Must be another sensor. Could the pump be overheating? Any help would be appreciated.
