Spare parts for appliances from UK Whitegoods

Hi,
Apologies as this could be a double post. I posted last night but I can't see the post so I am posting again.
I came home to a beeping washing machine (it had been off).
It has 0011001 code 49 inlet valve fault (advice from F&P).
The machine just beeps and displays code unless I unplug the machine. When plugged back in beeps and code. If I press start lights go out beeping stops and I have lid lock light flickering.
I have measured the resistance of the cold and hot water valves and they are 61 and 63 ohms respectively.
What I am wondering, is the problem the valve or controller.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Cold water valve fault. Possible faulty wiring or connections; solenoid may be o/c - use test meter to check. Coil should read 64ohms.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

thanks
i have tested both valves by applying voltage directly to the coil. both opened and let water.
im guessing it must be the controller. i checked the wiring all looks ok.
any other ideas
thanks

Motor controller is a possibilty - it uses a triac drive for the valves. If you are a suitably cunning artificer, you might like to apply power to the valve through the loom and see if it still works. Failing that, yes, the pcb.

Thanks for the help penguin.
I tried applying power through the loom and valve still works.
I have ordered a new controlller.
Does anything need to be done when installing a new conroller?

Hi,
Having a problem with this damn machine again. New board in and about 10 washes no problem.
Today it overfilled ie water all over the laundry quickly had to put it into spin to stop it taking water and drain.
Any ideas what this fault could be? I have no fault code coming up and when I installed the new board I set the size to 6.5kg. I have checked the size now and still ok for 6.5kg.
Any further help appreciated.

Try the pressure tube connection to the new PC board.
