Kelvinator Washer by F&P Smartdrive GW503 wont Start

Postby JoeKitchNZ » Tue Sep 08, 2009 7:29 am

hi all! Im kinda new here and have seen several posts similar to my issue (though different models) however im not 100% sure if i am doing it right.

Went to the Diagnostics page and followed as intrsucted:
Hold "Wash Temp Down", then press "Power". Wait for the two short "beeps", then Toggle the "Spin" buttons until "Hold" and "Slow Spin" lamps are lit. --- when I did this, I didnt hear any 2 beeping sounds though all of the lights got lit (so I assumed that was it) so I then toggled the Spin buttons until I have hold and slow spin lit. Outcome: nothing was lit except for High and Low and the hold and slow spin are lit.

I have a Kelvinator Washing Machine by F&P Smartdrive GW503. My problem is that it turns on, I can select whatever cycle i want but pressing the start button wont do anything at all. Its like start button is busted. Whats funny is that I just had it working the day before I posted this and the next day it just prefer not to run at all :(

any help is appreciated!

cheers!
Joe

sorry cant wait for updates from the Mod so I did some digging and saw one post saying check the board/panel for any moisture and to my luck the start switch (got some moisture) so i cleaned it up and tried it again and the start button works again!

however, for some reason, another fault came up, as u press start, it would only fill cold water for around 5 seconds then the valve just seems to close and prevent cold water to go inside the washing machine., what did i do wrong?

i only tried the diagnostic steps and the reset thingy.

Have you read the Sticky at the top of the forum? It tells you how to read the binary code from the diagnostics without an LCD screen.

Generally if it won't do much the lid switch and out of balance switch is a good place to start.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

You are not approaching the problem in the correct way. Read and understand the diagnostics sticky at the top of the forum, then try it. Quite simple to do.

If you have manually filled the machine and it's done stuff, we can probably eliminate the lid switch and the out of balance switch; so - you're probably looking at a fill valve problem.

I have tried it as per my initial comment but the thing is I didnt hear any 2 beeping sounds though all of the lights got lit (so I assumed that was it) so I then toggled the Spin buttons until I have hold and slow spin lit.

Outcome: nothing was lit except for High and Low and the hold and slow spin are lit. Does it tell u something?
