Westinghouse Wall Oven Flame Problem

Postby Ozzy1 » Wed Sep 30, 2009 3:59 am

Hello All
Have a Westinghouse GOL476WNG Wall Oven around 3 years old.
Had to replace the Glow Bar and Burner as the last 4 or 5 burner holes had collapsed and created a largish hole in the far end of it where Glow Bar sits. (It appeared to be heat damaged)
After replacing Glow Bar and burner, I noticed that the Flame seemed quite large (around 4-5 inches at Glow Bar end and 3-4 inches at inlet end).
I am concerned that this may have led to the burner and Glow Bar failing and dont want a reapeat of this. The flame is Blue in colour with occasional Orange Tips at the Glow Bar end.
Could a Gas pressure or other adjustment be required to reduce the flame size or is this normal for this model of oven ?
Thanks

Sorry, Ozzy1 - I'm not a gas engineer, so can't advise you. It's a bit pot luck which Oz engineers pop in, so I can only suggest patience.

Penguin45.
Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?
