Hi I am looking to purchase a new fridge freezer as my 7 year old hotpoint needs a replacement circuit board and the totall cost is likely to be £140. My budget is £300 so any advice would be gratefully received.

That would be one hell of a big fridge freezer
Do you mean 59.7 cm wide and 1.79 metres tall?

Hi
You need to increase your budget if you are after something which is going to last and have a good build factor. £300 odd is Beko territory, not the best but not the worst.
Bosch is always a good bet without going mad on price.

I have seen some hotpoints reduced to under 300. What is better frost free or manual defrosting?

Hi
Manual defrosting appliances are much more reliable. However frost free sales far outstrip manual defrost machines.

Which ones keep food fresher and avoid freezer burn on food? Are hotpoints reliable?
