De Dietrich DME555XE1 combination microwave oven

Postby julietitulie » Fri Oct 22, 2010 3:41 pm

I have a De Dietrich combination microwave oven which developed a loud noise and sparking from behind the upper wave guide. I heard this can be due to poor cleaning but this is not the case as the oven is used and cleaned daily. I replaced both guides and the sparking has stopped but the oven has a loud "grinding" noise and will not heat or cook, any suggestions?

Possibly the arcing has damaged the magnetron which lives behind the waveguide cover. Get it into a microwave specialist to diagnose it properly
