Spare parts for appliances from UK Whitegoods
by Ianott » Tue Feb 15, 2005 2:57 pm
I'm trying to clean an Indesit oven (Model FM1 IX is the only information available on the model number), and I can't figure out how to remove the oven door. I'm sure oven doors are meant to be removable for cleaning, but I don't have a manual.
I called their service centre. They refused to explain how it could be done and insisted on booking a service engineer. The oven is working without any problems, so I think it would be a waste to get a skilled engineer over to remove an oven door.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Ian

Ian, have a look at the Bosch website explanation here:
http://www.bshappliancecare.com/Bosch/Bosch_20773.html
There's a couple of short videos there about it, one of them should be pretty much like yours as there's only a couple of types of hinge generally used.
Dave.

if you open the oven door down fully you should be able to see a clip on either hinge that will come up.( you may need to use a screwdriver to move it )as it lifts up fully on both sides it will lock the hinges when you then try to close the door.
as you close the door gently lift and move the bottom of the door away from the oven and it should come away freely, replacing will be the reverse of above.
hope this helps

Hi everybody,
Thanks very much for your suggestions. The door is now off! This site is invaluable.
Once again, thanks very much.

Buddy,
Don't get too excited yet. The job is not yet done until you manage to put it back.
