Tecnik Cooker Not venting

Postby Binks21 » Tue Feb 19, 2008 9:51 pm

Can somebody please help me. My Tecnik cooker is not venting, it is model TKC 1285, the double oven and five rings on top. When I cook a roast or anything that gives off smoke in the oven my kitchen is unbearable with smoke. We have an excellent hood that works when I use the rings.

There is no heat coming out of the top vent line at the back of the cooker. Can someone help me please

Hi Binks,

It’s something in it, fat, grease or something along those lines that will be causing the problem. There is nothing in the oven itself that can give off smoke like that so it has to be something that has been in it causing the problem.

All I can suggest is a good clean.

Hi
Thanks for your response, however I don't think it is that as the oven has never vented since it was new, I don't believe it was fitted corrrectly and surely heat from the oven should come out of the slatted grid panel on the top of the cooker.

My last cooker did this and the utensils that hang above this vent would get really hot, this cooker they don't even get warm. This tells me that the oven has no ventalation working that should be getting rid of the smoke from inside.

I was wonderingif the fitter either didn't connect up a vent tube or do they cover them and a cover should have been removed on fitting it.

Any miore suggestions would be appreciated.
