Just a quick question hope someone can help..

Oven started playing up the other day and new one came today... it is fitted with a 13a plug.
On removal of the old one though it seems its hardwired into the wall..
This is what im faced with.

Obviously that has a cover which has been removed for the photo..

So im wondering whats my best course of action?

Can i just cut the plug off and run the bare wires directly into that? or does some kind of plug socket face need to be fitted?

that looks like a 30amp cooker connection point but may also be a switched spur connection, what kind of isolation switch controls the supply to the oven. ?.

theres a dedicated switch labeled cooker in the fuse box in the hallway so i assume its on its own circuit.
Also above the cooker near some plugsockets is another switch on its own labeled cooker which has a red light when switched on

then that is a 30amp supply and your 13 amp cooker shoud not be directly connected to it, please find an electrician with part P and seek his advice on the installation.

any reason why? i understand that the 30 amp circuit can carry a much higher load.. but seeing as the only thing on it is the oven.. it wont ever draw more than the oven actualy needs... and seeing as that is alot lower than the 30 amp line can take im suprised its a problem..

I can well understand a problem if i was trying to run a powerfull oven designed to be hardwired on a 30amp circuit from a 13amp plug socket.. but am suprised its a problem to run a low power oven from a 30amp circuit.

just a quick reply, if a fault develops on the oven then the fuse will not blow but the internal componants will fry, just be warned.
