Bosch classixx dishwasher check water light problem - Help!!

Postby yan_c » Mon Jan 03, 2011 9:52 pm

Hi, I've got a problem with a Bosch Classixx dishwasher which had not been used for 18months. It was working perfectly before it was put in storage and was left drained apart from the salt reservoir.

I've just plumbed it back in and tested it. The unit refills ok and then the check water light comes on and then it just pumps out approx a cup-full of water, then re-fills again and just keeps on repeating this process. Also there is never any spraying action inside.

I've taken the LHS panel off. I removed the water matrix, which was clean but washed it through. Both large waste pipes on the RHS of the matrix were clear. The large pipe on the RHS (has been mentioned to being prone to sludge) was clear. No water was found in the base to trigger the float. When the machine was switched on I watched the refill process and the float seemed to work correctly.

Before putting the machine back together I tipped the machine on the LHS (as it was mentioned this can help un-block some problems) and drained all water from the unit which was clear and contained no sludge.

From all this testing it seems the water check valve and the pump are ok.
If I look into the gap behind the water pump there is a large reservoir that seems to full of a brown fluid, maybe this is the problem? I tried to lift the main stainless steel body from above the pumps etc, but even after removing all the obvious screws inside it wouldn't release.

Any ideas what it could be.
Thanks
Ian

If you post the full model (ENR) number that is on the edge of the door you
will get more specific help.

From your description though its sounds like a failed jug impellor(if it has one) or inlet valve control problem.

About £20 and straighforward to change.

The chamber with the brown gunge is almost certainly the water softener unit
(ion exchange resin) and is perfectly normal.

Hi, Found the ENR number :- SGS55C02GB/01, hope this helps a bit more.

Can you tell me where the jug impellor and inlet control valve are and how to get to them?

I can see what looks like a small white inline pump on the inlet water supply. This is connected inside by a blue pipe between the rear of the machine and the matrix? I can also see a ctrl valve on the exit of the waste water out. But as water is coming in and waste is going out, I presume these two items are working ok and are not either the jug impeller or the inlet control valve as you mentioned...

Any help would be most appreciated..

Thanks

The symptoms you describe are of a failed jug impellor.
Search the board for jug impellor and you will get a few threads.

The small 'white inline pump' is the impellor jug CJA mentioned . Its actually a flow rate meter and 99% sure this is what has failed and will need replacing .

Thanks for the replies, most helpful. What is the easiest way to replace the impeller jug as you cant get at it from the lhs? Do you have to lift off the main cabinet or can you get at it from the rear. Also is it possible to test it somehow?
Thanks

you can push the inlet valve through from the rear(clip on lhs),disconnect the
valve and pull the blue pipe away from the matrix (stubborn but hair dryer helps)
you may wish to remove the matrix for easier access, but you dont have to drop the tub.
You cant test it -there is a small pcb in the back and a glass sensor (probably cracked).
