I have an Indesit DG6145 dishwasher that has developed an annoying fault. Sometimes, and by that I mean about every 4/5 washes, it leaks from the bottom left corner of the door. I have checked the seal and it seems ok, could it be overfilling?? is there a water shut off valve somewhere that may be faulty?

They do have a tendancy to overfill but usually fills base up with water.
3 in 1 and 4 in 1 tablets cause problems in a few machines I prefer seperate detergent, rinse aid and salt.

Hi, I have just had that problem with mine, And then a buzzing noise....

It's the Induction fill motor that has a winding gone. It's about £120 for the replacement part. Beleive me if it hasn't happened yet it will. Watch out for the burning smell. Turn it off staight away. And go and by a Proline from comet at £169.

There are 101 thing which can cause these machines to leak, not necessarily the motor.

I do agree with the general solution though - replace it with something better. Although I would recommend a good quality (Bosch or similar) product purchased from a local independant.

I know Indesit is the same a Proline. But all in all they are good machines. Beleive it or not they are part of Hotpoint. Which are a good make.

I paid £169 for my Indesit in 2001. It has served me well, although I only use it once or twice a week. The engineer told me that the ones that get more use perform for longer although I am not sure if this is true.

The only reason I mentioned getting another one is because I have made the mistake of paying an engineer £40 to fix mine plus the cost of the motor. Which adds up to the price of a new one. If I had got an engineer that had a free call out and inspection I would have done the same. But I'd rather pay less. Rather than paying £40 more, if you see what I mean.
