I am having very similar problems to the OP.

Dishwasher goes through cycle but does not heat/dry.

I got a local engineer (whirlpool registered) out to have a look and they have replaced the NTC with no success (on 3rd attempt - they brought 3 different NTC parts on 2 different occasions). I have had a look at images for the NTC on other sites and they differ somewhat from mine. (mine has spade type terminals with blue wires that go to a connector.) To be honest he was stumped as he expected error codes on the panel. He kindly left me a copy of the error codes and what they mean just in case it starts flashing them. I have put the machine through a test cycle as described in the manual and all it does is start flashing when holding down the start while turning on the machine, as expected, when I start the test cycle it just steady flashes of/on with no pauses.

Anyone have any further suggestions.

TIA
MrJ ;)

Strictly speaking, a steady flashing with no pattern is F1 - the ntc sensor. If your tech has tried replacement of the part (they have been updated BTW) then the fault more or less has to be the computer board itself.

I ran it through the check program again. This time shutting the door. It seems to want to do a rinse (as this si the program selected). I cancelled the program and then ran it through a 65 Degree C program and it seemed to work OK :o .

I am doing the same program as I type to see if it works again.

Hopefully it's not a new board as I think I saw them for £100+.

MrJ

->Edit 27-2-07
Well the machine seems to be working for the moment. If it goes again I will get a new (different brand) machine.

Thanks for your help

I have a similar problem with my ADG7450, dishwasher runs through complete cycle but does not heat water, although the machine heats up at the end drying part of the cycle. I have checked the NTC, reads 70kohm when cold and resistance reduces as I pour hot water over it. Checked all contacts, & wiring continuity, all OK.
If I unplug the NTC from the pcb it starts beeping and flashing continuously.
Before I spend £40 on a new part, can anyone confirm that it is the NTC that is faulty? Thanks

£40?

Nope, no confirmation. Some work, some don't, regardless of the reading. NTC is cheaper than a PCB though. As a repairer, I carry the NTC as a stock item, which gives me the option of substitution to check. Usually works, but no guarantees.

Sorry.

Stay safe, power off when working on the machine.

I have an ADG7540 that might have a simalar problem.

It starts fine. Does a quick rinse. Then fills with cold warter. But then stops. Nothing happens.

If I hold down the start button it drains and stops.

How do I check this HTC?

Or does anyone have suggestions?

Cheers,
Eoin

After fill, it should circulate..... If it doesn't, you'd better have a read of THIS.

For anything other than circulation problems, you should get the flashing start lamp as a fault indicator.

Back in April the NTC failed on my whirlpool ADG7450, got a new one from UK Whitegoods, & it has been working fine until now.
The washer goes part way through a wash, water heats ok etc but then starts beeping/flashing continuously & the rinse lamp is lit.
UKW kindly offered to replace the NTC under warranty & I returned it but they've metered it against a new one & it is the same.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Fickle sort of beast, your Johnny NTC. I have had them dead out of the packet before now - give a nice reading in kOhms on the test meter - still doesn't work. I can only suggest that you give the contacts on the pcb a thorough clean and the edge connector a bit of a pinch to improve the contact pressure. Failure of the temperature control circuit on the PCB itself is possible, but unusual.
