Whirlpool with green light flashing

Postby tight fisted » Mon Nov 16, 2009 2:34 pm

Good Afternoon All,

I've a Whirlpool ADG 644 1X. The green light is flashing in sets of 7. There is water in the drain well which I haven't noticed before. Oh, and it won't work! Any ideas please?

Flow meter failure. Again.

Use "Search", put 'flow AND meter AND whirlpool' in and select Dishwasher forum - loads of results.

Penguin45.
Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Anyone know where I can learn to count? Flashing 4 not 7. So reading other threads took off pump and drained sump. Now, whilst I was wandering around down there I noticed that the rear part of the big clear container, is it the monoblock, looked full of gunge. Disconnected top pipe but made no difference. Where do I go from here?

Four flashes is no drain detected in the time allowed. If the machine doesn't drain you may have a blockage or pump failure. If it does drain, but flashes the water level indicator may be jammed in the full position due to fat deposits. The microswitch on the back of the unit may be failing.

Water level indicator is HERE.

The gunge in the container is the resin in the water softener unit - do not mess with it under any circumstancces.

Many thanks Penguin 45. The state of things at the moment are :- there is no water in the sump. When the start button is pressed there appears no response at all and the green light starts to flash within a couple of seconds.
