Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 - I also have a problem!

Postby lorde85 » Tue May 09, 2006 12:28 am

Hi people. I'm portuguese and i've a problem in the following machine:

Model: Ariston Margarita 2000 AL68x PT
S/N: i'll post it tomorrow :D

So here's the deal, one of the transistors in the PCB blow up so i purchased a new PCB, then i took the EEPROM from the old PCB and put it in the new one,i started the machine and it gives me an error, something like this: 1,2,fast flashing light, always red light, and the first two times i tried this it started to fill up with water but suddendly stopped.

I'd like to known how to cancel the error and make a reset to it...can someone help me?i'm kind in a hurry :(

This model isn't listed in the UK I'm afraid so we may not be able to help too far but, is there a sequence to the flashing light between the pauses ?

Out of interest, how much was the new PCB over there ? ;)

Dave.

Well the PCB cost 75.00 EUR = 51.3095 GBP.

Here in Portugal don't exist much information, however i found a list of errors (the owner of the shop searched among the sellers and gave it to me), and possible causes...but i haven't the Serial to connect the machine, can you tell me more about it...because in that list i read a part about an Auto-Examination or something like this

I'm really stuck in this...i repair washing machines, dryers, refrigerators and so...but i don't understand much about electroniques and nowadays every little machine as an electronique component, like microprocessors and eeprom's and so...and i's really like to learn how to repair this simple things, but here in Portugal there isn't many ways to get an course or formation in this.

Many thks in your cooperation

Hi Lorde,
It's one of these?

First, is the knob for the programmer going round and round? If yes, you must count the number of flashes from the power light - ie 1-2-3-pause-repeat. This will tell you the error code - 3 flashes = F3.

Next, to cancel the fault, switch off, turn the knob to a dot (end position) and switch back on. The power lamp should flicker quickly for a few seconds and then go back to a slow flash. This means that the machine is ready to be programmed again.

Hope that helps,
Penguin45.
Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

No that's not it, my clients machine is this one:

Sorry for the foto but i can't get a better one.

Answering your question:

yes, the knob was going round and round, it flashed n times (can't remenber), it filled up with few water then it put it way, this is an error, then i made a reset like you said in your post, then nothing changed...

I looked at the PCB and a transistor had blown up...so i purchased a new PCB and installed it with the old EEPROM...the machine didn't do the same error...now it flashes 1 flash,2 flash, rapid flash (about 3 times),then light always on, i don't think this is an error because i took a look to the list of errors that i got and there wasn't this error...

So i took a look to the details of the nem PCB and to the olf one...and i noticed that the reference of the microprocessor wasn't exactlt the same...the old EEPROM fits with this microprocessor?

Thks again you're good people :D

That sounds like the start of the programme - the rapid flash tells you that the computer has accepted the programme and should then start. I would check:

1) Is the door locking - nothing will happen if the door doesn't lock.
2) Check location and fitting of the connectors at the new board.
3) Check no other wires have been disturbed.
4) Make sure the EEPROM is in the right way (I did this once - very interesting things happened, followed by a big bang!).

As for the changed processor number, the manufacturers are always updating these boards, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Regards,
Penguin45.

You're right, i tested it in my girlfriends washing machine (same model of my client) and it flashes the same way you discribed...tomorrow i'll change the door lock to see if that's the problem.
