It is noisier when the drum is rotating in one direction than when it rotates in the other.
There does not appear to be anything mechanically wrong inside and the problem seems to be vibration. It was very quiet when new but has developed this problem over time. It is so loud that you cannot hear yourself speak when standing next to it.
It is on a flat level surface and does not "travel" when in use.
We have cured the problem to some extent by sticking the removable top to the machine firmly with gaffer tape, standing the machine on a piece of polystyrene packing material and wedging an old towel under the base, in the space between the drum housing and the floor.
Is this a known problem, and is there anything we can do to make a better repair?
