Fridge freezer faulty - fridge not cold enough

Postby Baaen » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:29 am

Hi all

Hope someone can assist?

I have an integrated ariston fridge freezer model bcb 3111 that is just over 7 years old.

The freezer functions normally.

The fridge is cold but not cold enough for milk to stay fresh till it's use by date.

I clump of ice forms near the top of the inside of the fridge. Water gathers at the bottom of the fridge.

I have defrosted the fridge/freezer and also ensured that the water pipe at the back is unblocked. I have turned it back on. The problem repeats (temp not cold enough, ice forming at top of fridge, water gathering at bottom).

I almost bought a new unit yesterday but would like to try one last time to fix rather than replace.

Any advice very much appreciated.

Thanks
Bjorn

Can you check that model number, it didn't look right and sure enough I can't find anything on it at all.

If the fridge is frosting near the top of the back late it sounds like a loss of refrigerant or poor compressor performance.
Your thoughts of replacing it would be on the right line, happy shopping.
