Help!! Beko frost free CGA9756FF

Postby Jimlev » Tue Jan 03, 2006 10:51 pm

 My fridge is having a flip out. No error messages appeared. The fridge went onto 9 (plus red flashing light) on Sunday 1/1. I switched off on 2/2 and put back on, on 3/1 8pm. The fridge was totally warm, freezer defrosted. Any ideas? No error messages, quick freeze didn't seem to work and the large grey box at back of fridge (pump/ thimgy?) is almost too hot to touch, should I continue trying to get freezer/fridge going or is it knackered? The part that divides the fridge and freezer was vey hot, is this a fire risk? Can I go to bed tonight safely? Do I need a new freezer? ANY help appreciated. Cheers Jim

It sounds as if the compressor has chucked it and, in all honesty, it' s probably not economical to repair it as you're looking at the best part of £200 to repair that.

The only way to be 100% sure of course is to have it looked at, but it certainly doesn't sound like a DIY job and I'd switch it off.
