Hotpoint RFA60 fridge freezer..blocked fridge drainhole

Postby Boothmembers » Tue Jun 03, 2008 7:58 am

Any advice please, last few days there has been a pool of water in bottom of fridge, the drainhole seems to be blocked. Have tried to un block with a straw also put bendy wire down, it seems to be ok as far down as probably about 4inches from bottom, Also tried to ublock from rear of fridge but will not unblock...Any advice on this?..The water that gathers in bottom of fridge sometimes seems to freeze over but not all the time, do you think there is another underlying problem?

I presume that this has just started? in which case the gutter pipe has got a solid blockage. It could well be ice as the gutter pipe does pass the freezer section. Try pouring hot water (not boiling) down the drain hole at the same time try and and shift the blockage again with your flexible wire. Failing this you will have to find a home for the contents of the fr/fz. so as you can do a full 24 hour defrost by switching the power off.
