HELP! Main oven not working. Top oven and grill all OK, bottom grill OK but no oven heat and no fan. Display is all OK as is cooling fan. Wife said "it went POP - like a bird hitting the window". So I replced bottom element, fan element and fan motor but still nothing. Any ideas please?

ooh thats a complex oven, 6 electronic pcb's would call it a day mate and call in an expert. I guess if the element had blown, it may of taken some of the electronics with it. Unless you have missed something simple like setting the clock to manual?

Thanks. I am an electronics engineer, and the pcb's "look" OK - normally if they go there's a tell tail sign somewhere. No engineer in my area either! Guess we'll just grill the Turkey!

Did you check the feed to the components that you have replaced? (IE Are you certain that all the components that you gave replaced are o/c?

I have one of these ovens and by the sound of it I wouldnt say that the elements are thyristor controlled. You can here a relay clicking in and out to switch the elements.
Cpmsidering the BANG Surprised that you cant see any pcb damage. Have you checked the tracks underneath?

Thanksfor the input. The PCB governing the main oven had blown a track - a BIG track. So I soldered that together and then found that 2 of the 4 relays had welded closed, instead of their normally open position. This was Christmas Eve! So, I swapped teh two pcb's (for top and bottom ovens) so the bottom, main oven worked fine and by a bit of work with a voltmeter worked which wire did what for the top oven, and got the top oven working at least for Christmas Day, but no grill.

As the PCB is around £100, I ordered 4 new relays from www.farnell.co.uk and replaced those today - They're £1.79 from Farnell.

I can only imagine when the element went it blew the track and welded the relays shut. But it's a 10A continuous relay and 60A surge....!!
