Bosch SGV4313gb/17 - Pump wont stop

Postby Dunch » Tue Jan 02, 2007 1:01 pm

Pump is going all the time machine is switched on. Cannot use any programs.Have removed as much water from around pump (under the cover) no apparent blockages. Having read this group appears base may be flooded - How do I remove the baseplate - & where is it situated on the machine. Access not easy as this is an integral machine.

Thanks for any help

Get expert help to sort this one as it will require removing the machine to drain off the flooded base and to establish where the internal leak is that's causing the fault? :?

Click on link below for a local independent engineer to take a look.

Thanks for the advice Martin

Have had a look at the machine & there's nothing obvious that I can get to easily.

Will contact someone in the know to save me some grief !!

Just bit of feedback with this one - repair man took baseplate off expecting a flood of water but got nothing - not a drop!
He tested the float switch etc & problem appeared to lie with the contol panel thinking the flood switch had activated when it was actually ok.

He got back to me with a quote for a new control panel - £370

Am now in the market for a new machine - despite this one dying after only 6 yrs I'm still tempted to stick with Bosch - any comments ?

Electronic board is p/no 264882 @ £102.34 + VAT according to www.bshappliancecare.com - seems to be a hefty labour charge there......

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Thanks for the response Penguin45 - you have just saved us a lot of unecessary expense :D

Maybe should have used an engineer from this site in the first place

Am assuming this part will not be a DIY fix :!:

It's a like for like swap - how brave are you? Expensive part, so you need to be sure in your mind that this is the problem. From what you've said, it's a reasonable deduction; I have seen it before.

If you choose to use the repairs@ facility on the site you should be able to find a local engineer. He'll need an hour, perhaps an hour and a half to fit and fully test. You should discuss the rate when you make the call.

Best of luck,
