Hotpoint DF61 not cleaning properly

Postby whoisit » Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:45 am

My dishwasher is not cleaning very well, the top tray jet sprayer, is not spinning very much, and the bottom one although better, is still not that good? I have cleaned the bottom filter, and taken out both of the spray jets and the feed pipe that goes at the back of the machine to feed water to the top jet spray, but these were fine (no blockage). It therefore appears that the water is not being pumped with much pressure to the water spray jets? Any help would be appreciated.

It really is open it up time, however access to the internals on this Bosch produced machine is difficult, definately not a DIY job. Fault could be internal hoses gunged up or circulation pump impellor coming adrift. Plug out if you intend to proceed or try the link below to see if we have someone who can help.

Thanks for the reply. The instruction manual refers to unblocking the water pump, but how do I actually access the water pump?

Hi,

If it's not in the instruction manual then we can't offer you blow-by-blow instruction on how to get to things as we have to assume a certain level of competence. It's a legal thing, blame Brussels as they did it.

However I have had the "pleasure" of working on those machines and they ain't for the novice as Jim says. I'd also advise some pro help on this one.

You can find a general guide here which leads to other articles that may help.

I am suprised that the manual says that. The drain pump (which is most definately not the cause of your fault) can be accessed from the front, however that needs the door front panel and the large lower plinth and a few other bits removed to gain access. There is access to the flap valve of the drain pump from inside the dishwasher, under the filter but I say again, this is unlikely to be the cause of your problems. You cannot access the circulation pump without a major strip down involving removal of top, door, side panels and complete inner tub. There is a hose that often gets blocked that you can get at in the same way as the drain pump. it runs right across the left lower front of the machine but once again is really best left to someone with experience.
