Hi All, I've been browsing the forums a bit and have been pretty impressed with the number of times you guys seem to be able to help people out with their issues.
Just this morning I took delivery of my new Siemens dishwasher. I got the machine connected up, following the instructions, everything appeared to be OK.
I connected up all the bits and bobs and put the machine through a pre-wash cycle, which went perfectly. I then put about a half load of dishes and glasses in the machine and put it on an auto wash.
After about half an hour I went out to the shop round the corner and when I got back the machine appeared to be totally dead. When I opened the door the bottom of the machine was swimming in water, and it looekd quite cloudy as if there was still a lot of detergent in it.
I bailed out as much water as I could - reckon I took out easily about 4 litres, cleaned out the three filters, took the pump cover off, checked for anything obviously blocking it - no sign of anything. Reassembled everything and tried again - still dead as a very dead thing.
The machine has an aquastop doohickey on the inlet hose so I made sure the machine was off at the mains, disconnected the inlet pipe, reconnected it, switched on the water and then switched on the power. Still dead.
Checked the plug fuse - all OK. The washing machine on the same circuit has power fine.
No response at all when the power button is cycled, except about one time in every 7 or 8 I can hear it trying to do something and can feel a little movement in the water inlet pipe as if it's trying to pressureise.
I've spoken to the supplier (Comet direct sales) who have been less than helpful - they may be able to authorise a replacement but won't be able to get back to me until Monday and the earliest they can get an engineer out here is next Saturday which I am less than happy about.
So, after that ramble, anybody got any suggestions I can try out before Comet get back to me? Obviously I don't want to go taking anything apart. I've rocked the machine back and forth, rechecked all the connections and whatnot, just no joy.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Steve
