STOVES 720GR bottom oven not working

Postby tanky1 » Sat Mar 10, 2007 9:40 pm

Hi
Needed advice on an issue with my stoves 720gr bottom oven. When I try to switch the oven on, the fan rotates and I can see the ignition spark, but fails to fire up. After sveral attempts I can see a green flashing indicator light in the display panel.

Looked at the usuer manual which seemed to suggest that it could be in safe mode. Have switch the appliance off and on and still have the same problem. The top oven and grill seem to be working fine

Any suggestions? Do I need an engineer or is it something simple I could resolve?

Many thanks.

Any non-igniting gas oven needs professional service only. Please - find your local CORGI engineer.

Penguin45.
Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Your local gas engineer will be as much use as phoning a landscape gardener on these ovens unless your local engineer is an ex stoves engineer, also this repair could be very expensive.... be warned.

Tanky1 I,ve got a 720gra with a problem, I thought I,d ask you simply because you have a very similar model. My oven/grill knob is very very resistant to being turned to the right to ignite the grill. It turns to the left to light the top oven. Can you relate to this and any clues how the panel with the knobs on comes away after removing the knobs?

Sorry, not a problem I've had. My problem was a faulty gas valve, which was fixed by stoves.

When it was being repaired can I assume they didn,t remove the panel with the knobs on, if only to know that it can be removed.
