That's an odd one. I don't think that actually is a fault code, they would normally be F01, F02 etc etc.

Is the machine actually doing anything ?

we noticed the msg at the end of a cycle, the door could be opened and when we selected a new cycle it brought up the usual programme time and options

it happened once more and the same end result

i'll just kee an eye on it i suppose

Probably wise ;)

Unless -con has something to do with the fabric softener (-con being conditioner )

It would be interesting to know the outcome if any, if you resolve it or find out, maybe you would post back.

dave,

funnily enough my wife suggested con might have ref to the conditioner and i was like na, must be something more technical than that!

we'll let it ride and i'll post backlater with what happens

many thanks for the prompt, useful advice, much appreciated,

Minty,

Another thought is it may indicate that the spin load was unbalanced (i.e. a small but heavy uneven load) indicating a programme'con'trol time out maybe

Check your User Instruction Leaflet as it may make reference to unbalanced loads

Sadly for some strange reason Indesit (Merloni) are not very helpful to us in this country when it comes to technical feed-back. We would not have to 'guess then

Martin, I assume Merloni (Indesit) have sent an engineer out to investigate as it's only two weeks old ?

I would have thought it has to be a pcb error, has the engineer tried one do you know ?

actually no... haven't quite got around to a call yet,.. the unit works flawlessly..... however Ihavae managed to fix the issue...

1 - took out the soap tray and cleaned all residue from tray and recess
2 - removed the 20pence from the pump filter

none of this worked so I performed the Micorsoft fix and powered off for 30 seconds and back on again...

error gone and normal operations have resumed.. can only assume the CPU got messed up and needed the power off to reset....

Indesit via phone were useless and after 4 calls no one had heard of the error let alone a fix!!...

seemed silly to get an engineer out when the thing seemed out!!

Wife is happy now... so I am happy now...

Martin,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your problems with this errant washing machine. We at UKW do learn a great deal from 'customer feed back' which is much appreciated. Thanks :)

I can only conclude at this point that "con" is indeed associated with a 'controlled programme time out'...i.e. Something caught in the pump caused the vague 'Error warning'...Most interesting

Sadly (and what seems abundantly clear in this case) Indesit (aka Merloni) do not give us in the trade any technical information whatsoever. We (the heartbeat of the trade) need this information in order to correctly diagnose errant faults in electronic/computer controlled machines such as yours. One day we will get through to the likes of Merloni that sharing information with us can solve many problems and improve trade relations.

It is interesting to observe that in your case however, even their engineer hadn't a clue (sorry...was baffled!) which isn't too alarming for us anyway. Nevertherless we will continue to try and help you (the general public) out with our knowledge all very much willingly AND FOR FREE

What do these F codes mean. I keep getting this F01. It goes on for a while and then stops. Mine is a Evolution WE16. Great machine!

Yes! the service people are rubbish. Wouldn't touch them with a 20' barge pole.

F01 indicates a component failure on the computer board relating to the motor speed control circuit.

The fault codes almost never exactly identify the fault, but act as a pointer for the engineer.

Check in Directories, or put your postcode up here and one of the UKW members will pick up on it.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?
