Fisher Paykel GW709

Postby WillieWagtail » Tue May 29, 2007 12:32 am

Hello, seeking some assistance from this terrific forum.
Our washing machine when switched on will not fill with water. It makes the noise as if its ready to to fill but no water will come through. There is no blockage - have checked. If we manually fill machine it will not empty properly..stop start water flow & doesn't empty entirely.
If we turn machine off at button it will come back on automatically and beep every second ? . Have to turn off at power point. This is the LED display from left to right. off off on on off off on off.
Any thoughts much appreciated!

Fault code 50
Faulty Hot Valve
Measure Resistance Should read 64 Ohm

Note Also Your model can give Fault code 50 when the washer powers
off after spinning There will be no fault if this happens

Thankyou for your reply. To be more precise, we have only used cold water washes with no hose or cap on the hot water valve for a long time.
Could bad practice with this have caught up with us ? Also machine will not pump out water continuously (only in short bursts) and will not begin the spin cycle at all ! Any further thoughts greatly appreciated. :o

Machine wont Spin Until All The water is Pumped out(ie Bowl lifts up as it is
draining to release clutch to allow bowl to spin freely)
Check pump for blockages
Check to see if pump is overheating
Pump has a thermal cut out if Pump gets to hot it will Shut down
When pump cools it will pump
If as you say it is cutting out on pump wise to check also Out Balance Switch
Does it stop & start on fill ??

Sorry for delay (trying to put kid thru school)

Thankyou kindly bigsmokepiker for your time. The situation is as follows.
Cold water hose only connected.
Cold water will not flow into machine AT ALL No blockages anywhere including pump.
Fill with water manually with clothes in. Doesn't fully agitate. Can't seem to get a rhythm going. (before stopping and going into beeping mode)?
Spin setting - water empties in regular short bursts and then stops and goes into beeping mode.
Beeping can only be stopped by switching off at power point. Could all this be related to the faulty hot inlet valve ? Thanks in advance.
