Hotpoint Future freezer - ice

Postby greyhoundmagic » Sun Aug 05, 2007 2:01 pm

Hi, everyone! My Mum's frost free freezer (Hotpoint Future FZA30) keeps accumulating ice in the bottom. Presumably, when it de-frosts itself, the water is coming into the freezer instead of going wherever it's supposed to go. Is there any way I can sort out the problem for her? Something must be blocking the water's passage - but I don't know where to look. She's reluctant to call out an engineer as it will probably cost an arm and a leg and she's 86 years old and surviving on a limited amount of money. If I can't solve the problem easily I'll look around for a new replacement.

Thanks for reading this!

Hi

The problem will be the drain blocked.you will need to defrost the freezer for 24 hours then get into the freezer section to clear the blockage in the drain.

Thanks Brian.

I'll have to have a clear-out of my own freezer to store my Mum's food! How do I get to the place to clear the blockage? (That's been the thing that's been puzzling me!). Does it mean taking things apart from the back?

Hi

You will need to remove the internal plastic panels of the freezer and you will find a drain hole below the evaperator assembly.
