Tecnik fan oven - food takes long time to cook

Postby robertairey » Thu Nov 15, 2007 1:17 pm

We have Tecnik Fan oven TKC237, the food seems to take longer to cook. The door seals appear fine.
I did notice that the hot oven air was coming out of the vents above the drop down door, like a hair dryer is this normal ?

or does anybody have any idea on what checks I can do ?

thanks :

From a non technician - I also have a problem with the temperature of an oven that tellsme that it is one (high) temperature, when I have discovered (through a lot of underdone food) that it really is not that high.

The hot air coming out above the oven may be the vent (it is on ours), but despite it seeming warm/hot, it may be that the oven itself is not reaching the temperature it is set at. I'd like to know if this is a regular/typical problem.

As elroy said that will be the cooling fan venting residual heat away from the appliance so, normal :D
If its taking longer to cook my money would be on either a sluggish circotherm fan motor or faulty themostat; if like you say, the seals are fine and door is sealing solid against it
