SMEG DWF410ss

Postby matt32 » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:09 pm

I have had the following problem with my SMEG DWF 410ss, if anyone has any advice i would be very grateful. After using the dishwasher the door was opened and the contents left to dry. After a couple of minutes a loud pop/bang was heard from the machine. This popping/banging repeated every couple of minutes until i unplugged the machine. The bangs were accompanied by a burning smell. The dishwahers still appears to work. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks

Matt

The mains suppressor is breaking down. Do not plug the machine back in until it has been replaced as you will damage the computer board.

Part number 813410341, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

Power off before working on the appliance.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the dishwasher has been switched on since the fault. If this has damaged the computer board could you give me an idea of the likely cost of replacement. The dishwasher is 5 years old so it may not be worth replacing.

Thanks

If the machie was plugged in with on/off switch off, the board will probably be OK.
