Ikea by Whirlpool by Smeg DWF 407 stuck in washing cycle

Postby Jajjan » Tue Jun 10, 2008 10:29 am

I opened the door to the machine in the middle of a washing cycle. I might have heard some beeps efter a while. A few hours later I closed the door to finish the cycle and nothing happend.

The program led is continously on, even after restart and after a reset of the machine. No errror codes, no sounds.

What can it be?

Door switch.

Power off before removing any panel.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Thanks for quick reply!

I have checked the door switch, it seemed to be OK.

I also noticed that some pump started then i lifted the overflooding float sensor, but only if the door was closed.

Normally the program led is blinking until I choose a program, it is then continously on. Should it be blinking after reset?

I can't find any specific information on this model - I take it this is not a UK machine? If possible, can you post a picture of the control panel?

Jajjan has sent this to be posted:

The machine is a 5 button SMEG - in theory, you should be able to work the programme button until LEDs 4+5 light - shutting the door should activate the machine, which should cancel the programme by running the drain pump for 1 minute.

However......... THIS does not make comfortable reading. I would suspect some sort of corruption issue, failing that the computer has failed.

If you wish to check the components mentioned in the article, power off first.

(Nice result against Greece :D )

Hi,

yes Nice result agains Greece, now the problem is people start to believe that we can acually win the thing.

Two more questions:
About the door switch, I can still use the button to change program then the door is shut, do you know if this should be possible.

Main suppressor, I can't find a good translation, is it a line filter, to handle voltage spikes?

Hi Jajjan,
Once the door is closed, you should not be able to change the programming. I would definately have a look at the door latch/switch mechanism.
