A relative needs a new latch receiver for a Hoover New Wave tumble dryer D6986. been told the item is now obsolete but they have just paid 40 quid for a new door so would really like to get hold of one.
thanks in advance if anyone can help. i will get the serial and model no now and post them up.

Part Number is 09088436. Best thing to do is make an inquiry with the spares shop at this site as they have access to various suppliers.

tried that mate thanx but no luck. the door closes fine but the prongs on the back which the switch clamp onto have broken off. having just paid 40 quid for the door, i am tempted to just bypass the switch or tape the plunger on the switch so it will work. i know its probs not a recommended fix but anything is better than scrapping it just for this.

The latch receiver is just a plastic plate that screws on the outside of the cabinet, are you sure that's the part you mean?

yes mate it screws on to the cabinet but then the switch that the door pushes on, screws to it on the inside. to make it work when you shut the door.

I've probably got a secondhand one but I can't find any photos of the part so would be unable to identify the correct one.

Is this the same item as fits softwave machine. Microswitch fits on two posts of assembly which in turn bolts to front part of latch that is located on front of machine?
I could forward secondhand assembly.
Even better. Why not visit your local council/ scrapyard and buy a whole machine for a few quid? There is a chance you will find one there!
Regards

Ooops sorry. I thought this was a washer dryer.you were describing- my fault. Do you know if tumble dryer interlock is similar to that of washer or washer/dryer.
