help, washer buying advice needed

Postby koksrob2 » Sat Jan 03, 2009 11:32 am

Hi,

we leave in a 2nd floor flat and our washing machine has broken. so need to get a new one.

or limit is £600

now i would like to buy a decent one. other half says needs to be either to intergrated or have at least a steal ring (to match kitchen).

was looking at the miele prestige 6. or distiction 600. but then have been told that would not be good in a flat. especially as the worktops sit on a false floor.

is this really a problem?

or what other ones should i consider?

Many thanks!!

Not sure what you mean by 'it must have a steal ring' ???

Do you mean have a steel door trim or have a stainless steel or grey cabinet?

Miele machines should be fine on most types of flooring.

I have edited your thread title. In almost any forum I know, a post that just says 'help' often gets ignored.

I think I know Jim.

The door trim being stainless, chromed or graphite. ;)

I also think I know why the low end Miele isn't advised in a flat like that as it only has the two shocks and can have vibration issues on floating floors. If that is what you've got then the idea on an integrated is one I'd tell you to avoid. You're then left with two choices, buy a low spin speed machine to reduce the vibration or, buy one that's more stable an can soak up the vibration well.

The ISE10 I know is stable but it's outside your budget.

I'm unsure if there are any machines that would be stable enough below that so you're left with reduced spin speed unless anyone has any other suggestions.
