Hi, I've read the other posts on the subject but could do with a little more info.
The cooker works fine on all other settings, but won't heat up past 30 on Ventilated Heating Element. The Thermostat light stays on.
Is it normal for the fan heating elements to go after only 20 months?
If the fan elements need replacing, could it be a DIY job?

Sadly yes not unusual at all

With the right tools and electrical know-how not too bad a job, If I knew what make an SUK90mfx was I could also advise you further

Hi definately a Smeg 90cm dual fuel range.
Has twin fans and elements in the one cavity.
Suspect one element has failed giving the low temp.
The elements are changeable from the front with care ie- that you don't lose the wires off the element when you extract the elements.

As always unplug the appliance

Sorry I forgot to mention it was a 90cm Smeg Dual Fuel.
I'm surprised to find SMEG so unreliable, and their customer service very poor.

I'm a competent DIY'er, but do I need a professional to handle such a job?

Also, Could I buy the elements from this site?

If you are only getting 30 degrees then it sounds like both elements have gone. I have had these where one element has gone and they still reach temperature after a period of time but cook unevenly. Even if only one has gone I would still order two as the other tends to go shortly after.

If you are unable to confirm insulation and earthing after repair, I would advise that you seek help from a proffessional.
