Spare parts for appliances from UK Whitegoods

RS 228-2541 200/160c or
228-2535 220/180c
auto-reset, 10A capacity
Both are +-11c so either would do at one's own discretion. Bends the spades down flat and you gotta be pretty close to the mark...
Oh, if manual reset is imperative, the manufacturer is Radiatron- might be worth a call or email?

RoadkillUK's got it spot on. The part I'm looking for is the same one as in his picture and so far like everyone else I haven't managed to source a replacement ... other than in a complete heater assembly! To recap I've tried RS, CPC and Maplin as well as browsing the web to no avail.

Hi, I've ordered one of these 'RS 228-2541 200/160c' as suggested. I'll let you know if the dryer still works after I fit it.
£2.95 for the part
£4.95 postage
£1.38 VAT
====
£9.28 ... blimey

I think there are some serious safety issues here. You should not replace a one shot device with an auto reset. No doubt it will work but your dryer is no longer properly protected from over-heating.I guess it`s your choice but be warned.

First the good news...after a long and eventful search for the same component I have identified the item as a Thermal Cutout from a german company called Inter Control. The item is a Minimelt Plus TCO part number 155431. You can find them on the web at
http://www.intercontrol.de/controls/en/ ... 00&lang=en
Now the bad news.... despite trying 4 or five spares suppliers in the Uk (including the main Inter Control importer) I could not procure the item in one's or two's. Minimum Order quantities seem to be in the thousands. Also as highlighted elsewhere, there are safety issues in using a different part in the tumble dryer, hence the reason Hoover and others supply complete heater assemblies for replacement.

I've picked up this thread because I'm looking for the same thing for a Hoover TDC6UK condenser dryer. Since the last posting was in June I presume a source was discovered and a spare obtained. Please can someone point me towards the source?

The cut out is not available as a spare part from GIAS/Hoover their engineers fit complete heaters as part of the five year parts warranty.
There are safety issues here Hoover replace the heater complete for a reason trust me they would fit a full heater if they could get away with a T.O.C.

The Candy CDC266 also uses this part. I need one too and am absolutely shocked to think you have to buy a whole new heater unit instead of this little part! If so I will avoid Candy/Hoover products in future as this is a rip off...
Anyone know how much a heater unit goes for ?

Both Hoover/Candy heaters are available through the shop@ facility on this site.
Regards,
Penguin45.
Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

so you have effectivly bypassed an essential safety thermostat on the machine. therefore if for any reason the motor stops turning the heater will come on with no air being blown through it.
the heater will overheat and the auto reset thermostat may start to cut in and out but the one shot themostat cant cut out as you have bypassed it.
if the auto reset sticks you have a potential fire risk.
time 30 mins. Cost lifes?
