Almost certainly a thermocouple fault not allowing the thermostat to operate correctly. You MUST get a CORGI qualified engineer to deal with this - check Directories or Repairs at for a suitable UKW engineer in your area. If no joy, please post your post code in the thread and we'll see what we can find for you.

Hi,
Thermocouple is a device which is connected to the thermostat and the burner. When heated (usually a few seconds) it will hold the thermostat in an "open" or "operating" position. If it fails, the thermostat will not operate (ie no flame) or partial flame if failing. It is an essential safety device.

Iv'e got exactly the same problem as the person above I have identified a stockist of the thermostats there are two types though the
GTS1344 & GTS1377 I am not sure which one is on my cooker???

My post code is M40 1NN any engineers do this area If so how much will it cost to replace barring in mind i'm strapped for cash thats why I need to replace the stat rather than buy a new cooker.

Thanks in advance

Ps i'm assuming the thermocouple would come as part of the thermostat :?: i.e the part number above are thous of the thermostat? If not can someone post up a picture so I know what I need to pick up.

Thanks

The thermocouple and thermostat are two unrelated parts, you must have a Corgi engineer fit the parts so there's little point in trying to source them yourself to be honest.

From the directories for you:

Thanks! I sort of figured after I posted that they where different.

Check with the suplier mentioned above they have a number of them so I just need a fitter to replace it. Blackpools a bit far for me I live in Manchester.

Thanks for the advice.

Haworth Appliances cover your area for servicing was the reason for the post bograt :D

They will also be able to bring the correct part with them if you give them the symptoms and model details over the phone I would imagine.

Also check that the low flame is going completely across the burner thus coming into contact with thermocouple, have had a few blocked burner ports.
If this is happening its Corgi time !!
