Hi, I have an issue with the above Hotpoint Dryer.
I have fitted a new front drum to air duct seal/ bearing but it keeps getting ripped off after about 3/4 uses of the dryer.
It is a slightly strange Air Duct, I haven't seen one before, as it doesn't have any bearing pads built into it and just relies upon the seal as a bearing. I don't think this is helping it stay on as it only has an adhesive backing to hold it on.
Is anybody aware of an Air ducst modification that may be available to stop this from happening?
Thanks
Bezza

The front bearing pads must have disintergrated or fallen off as they should be there for the drum to ride on and the felt seal just seals the gap. I think there are three pads along the bottom and two further round on those and they just clip into the duct. The drum may have worn the duct away completly though if it's only been run with the seal

No, you don't understand, this model has never had bearing pads on, there is no place for them to fit, bizarre I know.....

I've come across these dryers with no bearing pads, don't know why bearing band is coming off though can you not stick it with some heat resistant adhesive

The seal/bearing you have is it black or white? The versions with bearing pads have a greyish black self adhesive seal and the version that just has the felt bearing has a slightly thicker white seal/bearing. If it is white one and still comes off then glue is the way i guess. Not come accross this version though, hope this helps.
