Fridge And Freezer Forum

We have had this fridge for five years but lately it's been acting up!
There's ice forming at the top back of the fridge but the rest of the fridge is definitely not cold enough.
Compressor is hot
Bottom hinge on door is broken but door still closes
Any ideas what could be wrong, how much it could cost to fix or is it time to buy a new one! If its fixable where can we get a new hinge?

Thanks for your reply - on closer inspection the door isn't sealing that well. Could this be a cause of the ice forming? If so where can we get the hinges?

Yeah that could well be the cause. What sort of frost are you getting, is it solid ice or a kind of "snow", powdery like freezing?

Dave should be able to help with the hinges if required though.

The frost is pretty powdery, if you touch it, it flakes away really easily

That's air getting in then so it's caused by the door not sealing correctly.
