hotpoint sdw60

Postby kezzarooni » Fri Feb 04, 2011 12:01 am

hi i have a hotpoint sdw60 and recently its been leaving grit on items after washing on both trays but more so on the top tray. going through various forums looking for ideas i have ....
used the cleaners (works well for a wash or two then back to sqaure one)
checked filter at bottom inside machine - all clean
and today i have open the door mid cycle to find that it looks like the top arm actaully isnt spinning during the wash but it seems water is going throgh it. so i took rottary arm off and cleaned out - to my amazement i found some interesting things in it like plastic film and sweet corn etc

put all back together but arm still isnt spinning.

im guessing this why its not washing properly

has anyone got any ideas

many thanks

if you are sure that the spray arms are definately clear then you could be looking at a faulty wash pump, But also its worth while checking your salt level as the dishwasher uses the salt during the water regenoration process so that it is always washing with the water as clean as possible

If there is a good flow of water coming out of the holes in the top spray arm but it is still not rotating then it is either catching on the basket or it could be worn.

The spray arms are quite cheap on these so if water is coming out it might be worth trying a new spray arm.
