New kitchen - CDA or Bosch/Nef/Siemens?

Postby antimaps » Sat Jan 29, 2011 10:15 am

I'm trying to sort out appliances for my new kitchen. At least 2 kitchen designers recommended CDA but I know nothing about the quality or durability of these products.

Are CDA appliances good, or just good value? Their warranty seems ok on the face of it, but manufacturing faults usually show up in the first year. After those are fixed, I would expect any product to continue without issue until it dies of old age. So what is the life expectancy of a CDA appliance?

We have several Bosch appliances (wm td dw ff) that have performed well for well over 10 years. Can the same be expected of their latest models?

Finally, I would appreciate any recommendations for the following built in appliances:

1 large double or 2 single electric fan ovens - No fancy features, just a timer, catalytic liners and a quiet cooling fan.

Basic microwave - Not a combi.

Integrated dishwasher - Must be quiet.

5 burner gas hob

Chimney hood - Curved glass, wall mount, quiet.

Many thanks

Hi

CDA products are not the best around in either build or reliability. Google is good for turning up review sites.

Remember though that any appliance even Miele can develop a fault at any time, after all we are not perfect but we expect our appliances to be 8O that said if you look after your appliances they will look after you.

Bosch, Neff and Siemens are all from the same stable. Design, build, style are equal, functionality and add ons will vary as will budget as to which brand you purchase.

All three manufacturers cover all of the product ranges you are looking at. Bosch Neff Siemens do have different exterior styles, so if you looking at a matching you are better to keep to one brand.

HTH :)

Hi: After having been a service agent for CDA I would'nt recommend them to anyone either & from experience they're service in event of a fault is not very good.
Let us fix it properly.

=catalytic liners means hotpoint or zanussi/elux/aeg/ or bosch/neff,
=even then with bosch its often rear and top unless you splash the cash...

Basic microwave - Not a combi.
=daewoo is as good as any other out there, but obv if you want it
= to match oven/hob go with which ever brand you pick

Integrated dishwasher - Must be quiet.
=bosch/neff

5 burner gas hob
=up to you, all pretty generic

Chimney hood - Curved glass, wall mount, quiet.
