Choosing top end fridge freezer

Postby Tamsen » Sun Sep 04, 2011 8:48 pm

Hi there

We are about to invest in a new fridge freezer - and are tempted by the Panasonic NR-B32FW2-WB currently with free 5 year warranty. The question is, would an equivalent Miele or Liebherr be a more sensible choice as they have a longer history of making fridge freezers? And if so, what model would you recommend?

Hoping someone can offer some advice soonish as we need to buy this week for our new home!

thanks in advance

Hi

The Miele fridge freezers are made by Liebherr so which ever one you go for it'll be the same other than cosmetics.

In a word, YES. :)

thanks both, that's very helpful -

Do you have any particular Liebherr model recommendations? The consumer views of the which best buy CUN3033 (£499 from John Lewis) suggest that the thermostat plays up occasionally. Is there a higher speced model that's worth paying more for?

Also are all products with the same model number, made in the same country. Quite keen to avoid PRC if I can. (I guess I'm asking if Liebherr still make their products in Germany?)

thanks again

Hi

All the products are still made in germany.higher spec ?.you can spend as much as you like but the real only difference will be either size or cosmetic.

Ok, sorry me again, what do you engineers think of BioFresh? Seems like a good idea but is it likely to go wrong? #

thanks for thoughts ...

Hi

Bio Fresh isn't a functional part other than its a temperature setting approx 1 oc .

In principle if the fridge is working then bio fresh would be working.Better used for meats ect which keeps longer at 1 oc .Other than that the unit works as normal.

I like the option as it allows my BEER to be kept at the optimal temperature.
