Hoover WA110 sticks during cycle

Postby Jaypee » Thu May 12, 2005 11:46 am

I have had a Hoover WA110 washer/dryer installed for nearly 3 years. Last year it stopped taking the conditioner which didn't bother me too much. Then a few months ago it started sticking mid cycle. I usually use no 8 and it sticks (I can hear a buzzing sound) on no 10. If I move it on a click it carries on, but it sticks again during this cycle. Another thing that happens is that when it eventually finishes, all of the clothes are hot which means the clothes are really creased - just love ironing!!

Someone told me that Hoover have a 5 year parts guarantee. Trouble is I live in Spain but bought it in England.

Any advice would be appreciated. I never use the tumble dryer as it goes, but the actual wash performance is really good.

If it's buzzing it may be the valve is opening but no water is reaching the machine.

Check the cold water supply as this may be the cause of the conditioner problem as well.

Thanks for the reply Dave. Is it possible then that the cold water would work on the fill when I start it, and the rinse once I click it on? You can tell I'm female can't you. I've actually just sat here for the last 10 minutes getting hypnotised by your little walking caveman!!

As the clothes are hot and it sticks it indicates that there is no cold water reaching the machine at all.

You'll need to check the water supply to the machine, it may be a simple thing like the tap is switched off ;)
