Hi

Issue: Water level is too low in cabinet (according to usual operating level and the user guide check) and turbulent noise at water inlet solenoid box. I think I have diagnosed the fault correctly but would appreciate any input. I should point out that all the normal cleaning filter checking etc. has been done to the best of my knowledge.

The machine had an intermittent filling issue a few months back but seemed to settle down. After adding an outside tap (incidental except for turning the stop cock off and on) the fault has returned and become progressively worse.

I was concerned that our high water pressure was causing an issue with the antileak so backed the service valve off which returned the filling noises to the usual smooth hiss and combined with a 2 minutes fill time (usually 1 minute) did the trick...nearly. Over a few weeks I have had to back this off more and more to prevent the rushing noise at the solenoid.

The machine is rated for 1 to 10bar. My pressure with all other water demand off is 5 to 6 (with main house stop cock fully open).

If I bypass the solenoid the water flow into the cabinet is fine (though of course there is no control!) so I am assuming that either one or both of the solenoids have started failing meaning that they fail to open fully resulting in the turbulence when full pressure and flow is used.

Everything else functions fine. My intention is to replace the autostop inlet hose that comes as one unit...easy to replace one plug and two connections but £80! Could 6bar of pressure be an issue despite what the manual says (we have only been in this place 12months)?????

If so I will add a pressure reducing valve to my plumbing before the connection, not cheap either but better than killing the machine clearly. (I have grown fond of this after 11 years of great service and having grown very well acquainted with the internals, usually after a family member doing something dum!)

I have a very similar fault. When we moved house, our G6655 wouldn't fill to cover the element so it would run cold. A local engineer and I worked out that it filled fully when the machine was pulled out of the bay so thought it was a kinked hose when it was pushed in under the counter. We tied string to the hose and pulled on it to keep the hose from kinking and it reproductions for a year.

one year on and it started now fully filling again. I haven't moved the machine so can't work out what's caused the change. I pulled it out and the next wash was fully filled and the heater came on but put it back and it didnt , pulled it out again and now it won't duly fill in or out so I now don't think it is a kinked hose. I've felt along the inlet hose and it feels fine.

any suggestions very gratefully received!
