Spare parts for appliances from UK Whitegoods

Have an Electrolux Fridge model ER6641T which is warm and the light still working the thermostat appears to work have switched it off light in the fridge goes out. With the power on there is 240 volts at the compressor relay but the compreeor does not run. Assume that the relay is faulty but could the problem be the gas filled cappilary on the thermostat.

If you have power to the relay then either the relay/overload assembly is faulty or you have a duff compressor - if on switch on you get a hum followed by a click then its the compressor.

Thankyou for your quick reply to my query. I will try the relay/Overload to rectify this fault because have checked the resistence of the compressor windings and the resistance between the bottom 2 pins is 72 ohms and about 38 ohms between the top pin and each of the bottom pins.
Is there a site you would recommend to get the spare relay/overload from because most of the site that I have looked at do not seem to have it available
Thanking you again for your assistance with this matter.

you may have power to the compressor but have you a neutral? I would say its far more likely the thermostat

I have a neutral at the relay I tested the voltage between the neutral and the live conductor.

You may struggle to get the relay as generally they are supplied with the compressor not as a seperate item. If you post up the details on the compressor label we should be able to match it up for you.

Have been able to get the fridge working by installing a universal small compressor starting relay/overload.
Thankyou both for all your help in resolving this fault
