Indesit IDL 500 faulty but no flashing lights

Postby papa_misto » Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:13 am

Hi everyone, I've viewed this forum before as a guest so this is my 1st post.

This is quite an old dishwasher so before I decide to spend the cash on a replacement it would be good to know if this one can still be easily fixed.

About a year ago I got the famous 1st and 3rd lights flashing and after reading this forum I gave the high pressure switch a good clean and it's worked ever since. Now the problem is a bit differente, on program 4 the machine fills with water to just below the heating element and then all I hear is a humming noise nothing else. I turn the machine off, open the door and a there's a lot of steam inside which is caused by the heat from the heating element. On programs 1-3 the machine fills with water again to just below the heating element then the humming noise for 30sec to a minute, then empties the water, fills up again, humming noise and carries on like this until I turn it off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Time to invest in a new one, the main circulation pump sounds to have failed.

It could just be the motor capacitor but that is not very likely.

Thanks for the quick reply. The motor/pump was actually my initial thought, because when it was working as soon as it filled up with water the pump would kick in.

Oh well such is life  Just ordered a new one on line.

Thanks again.
