Help choosing type of Fridge/Freezer please

Postby showem » Sat Apr 28, 2012 4:16 pm

We need to buy a new fridge freezer. It's for a family of 4, with two small but growing children. We buy lots of meat and lots of vegetables and I would like a big freezer for freezing meals in advance. Our max width space available is 85cm.

We are considering two different models. One is the LG GM5148AERV. I like the look of it, but that's not important. What I really like is the freezer drawers seem easy to access and would store a lot based on their shape.

The other is the Fisher & Paykel E522BLX. It's considerably more spacious in the fridge bit, but the freezer seems to be about the same size.

Are there any factors about either of these appliances that I should know about to help make our decision? Reliability? Noise? Temperature stability? Something I haven't even thought about?

Thanks in advance for any help.

We bought a Fisher & Paykel and it was broken on arrival. :( I understand this is probably rare, but their customer service since then has been terrible. In fact, it's so atrocious that I'm cancelling the order with the retailer. The retailer has been as helpful as possible and are now doing their best to find me another product that isn't Fisher & Paykel.
