dents on inside of new freezer door

Postby mooch » Thu May 17, 2012 5:57 pm

Our new freezer has about 3 golf ball sized dents on the inside of the door. Not very noticeable and obviously only when the door is open. Before I plug it in I just wanted to know if the dents could in anyway affect the performance of the freezer. They're not near the seals and the door closes fine. Want to know before deciding to keep or ask for a replacement.

Thanks.

Transit damage, not your fault? Ask for a replacement fridge or a discount I would.

The damage such as you describe however should not affect the working of the appliance overall.

Thanks for replying.

The dents must have been there before the unit was delivered as the delivery men were quite careful unloading and unpacking the freezer.

If the dents don't affect the working of the freezer, I'm inclined not to go through the hassle of arranging return and redelivery.

Got one other query about the back of freezer before I make a decision.

Here are some pics of the dents.

Just off the phone with the supplier who offered a 15% discount :D which I happily accepted. My jaw dropped when she said fifteen ... percent instead of pounds.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Martin.

Hi

These photos are not actually dents. They are of the expanding foam which you cannot guarantee a full even expansion. There is no actual fault with either the door or liner.

Are you saying expanding foam was used inside the door? Out of interest, do you know what the circular crators are for?

In any case, thanks for the info and it's good to know they won't affect the function of the unit or indicate that it's been bashed about.

Cheers.

Yes to the foam and the craters are there to add strength and rigidity to its form. :D
