LG WM12331FDG all lights dial lights on, can't select prog

Postby johnnyredgate » Sat May 26, 2012 8:56 am

Having problems with approx 3yr old LG mschine, set it this morning then pressed pause which did not work. selected power off to reset programme and when I tried to put it back on all the lights are on around the dial not change when you turn the dial so it will not select any programme, door lock light lit and detecting symbol flashing so no error symbol registering. As it won't select a programme it is not working at all. Any advice please on fixing this, many thanks

One of the guys that work on these more may be able to confirm but, it does actually sound as if the control PCB is faulty.

Thanks for the replies, is a replacement PCB going to be a job for a W/M engineer or is it something that could be tackled myself without experience, just wondering what is involved?

Thanks again

Generally speaking, not so hard but I'd be making sure before ordering that the child lock wasn't on.

I you need one I'll add it to the store as it will probably be considerably cheaper. Or you can mail Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for an up to date price.

Thanks for replies, the lock light was staying on, along with the detecting light and all the lights around the wash selector. Not sure how I would know about a child lock, (additional to the normal door lock?)going on? Having now been offered a 2nd hand Hotpoint machine I have just tried the LG again and the lights are looking correct and it is allowing me to select. Bit confused about this after trying it several times over the w/e, and suspect the problem will probably occur again but is there something I need to be aware of re a childlock?
Cheers
