Help Finding An Oven Suitable to fit beneath a gas hob

Postby ConfusedKevin » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:49 am

Knowledgable Friends

I am looking for a built-in single electric oven to fit under a built in gas hob. The gas feeder pipe for the hob come up the back of the oven cavity and then forward to the middle of the hob. This obvious restricts the space available. From the reseach I've managed todate it seems that most manufacturers have forgotten that consumers require under-counter ovens and only build oven for eye-level installation where there are no obstacles to installation. Is anyone aware of any oven that is likely to suitable.
Thanks

Hi

I would be curious to know the make and model number of the hob you have as I can't recall one which connects as you describe.

New gas hobs have the connectors either on the rear left or right corner not in the middle of the hob.

I would have a Gas Safe engineer in to take a look and re route the pipework to accommodate a new hob.

HTH :)

My memory was playing tricks with me - the gas pipe connection to the hob is at the rear. However, my statement was to highlight the need for the oven to have a stepped top, rather than be completely box shaped.
I have got my tape out to re-check all the critical dimensions.
The oven should have a depth of between 53 & 54 cm excluding the facia (54 at a push). The height of the main chassis can be 57cm at the front of the unit but reducing to 53 cm at the rear.

Most if not all single ovens are "stepped" and the standard depth is 54cm. The Zanussi/Electrolux/AEG range are typical
